When we look at our surroundings, we see different human beings in different kinds of troubles. Observation and experience also show that the people who are in trouble belong to different classes according to their deeds. Have Sometimes people who are in trouble are very virtuous, as well as transgressors, oppressors and abusers. People are usually in a state of grief and sorrow when they see the benefactors in distress, and they seek mercy from Allah, the Exalted, for those who do good, whereas on the contrary, the guilty and the arrogant suffer a bad fate. People learn a lesson by watching.
When the causes of troubles and sufferings are considered in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah, the fact becomes clear that different people have different causes of troubles. When the causes of troubles are considered, the following causes come to light:

1. Trial: When the righteous and chosen servants of Allah (swt) are in trouble, it is a test and trial for them by Allah (swt). Thus Allah, the Exalted, says in verses 255, 256 and 257 of Surah Baqarah: “And verily We shall try you with some fear and hunger, and reduce the wealth and lives and fruits and give good news to the patient. Those who, when affliction befalls them, say: "Verily, to Allah we shall return, and to Him we shall return. And these are they on whom are blessings and mercy from their Lord. Are guided. ” History of the Prophets
It is understandable that a large number of the Prophets (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) endured various difficulties and hardships in their lives with a smile on their faces. For nine hundred and fifty years, Prophet Noah (peace be upon him) faced enmity, hatred, opposition, ridicule, oppression and stoning of his people. Hazrat Ibrahim (sws) had to endure the cruelty of the people of Basti and the king of the time also expressed enmity towards him. Hazrat Ibrahim (as) was thrown into the blazing fire due to his strong connection with Tawheed, but Allah (swt) made him safe and secure. Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) also had to endure many hardships due to the monotheism of God Almighty. He confronted Pharaoh’s arrogance, Haman’s position, Shaddad’s estate, Qarun’s capital, but expressed his perfect commitment to God Almighty with length and continuity. Jesus (pbuh) also had to endure the opposition of the settlers.

There were many hardships, difficulties and trials in the life of the Holy Prophet. The mountains of oppression fell on him too, he was besieged in the valley of Shaab Abi Talib, he had to say goodbye to the land of Mecca, he was treated very badly in the valley of Taif. On this occasion, Gabriel Amin came with the angel of the mountains and the merciful Prophet said, “O Allah! He instructed them, "Of course they do not know.” The disciples of the Holy Prophet (sws) and his close companions also had to suffer various kinds of persecution in the name of belonging to the religion. Hazrat Bilal, Hazrat Khabab, Hazrat Zaneera and Hazrat Samia endured the historical hardships but with faith and perseverance endured the hardships.

Thus Allaah says in verse 50 of Surah Rome: “Corruption has appeared in the land and in the sea because of what people have earned, so that (Allaah) may make them taste some of what they used to do Let them return. ” Similarly, in verse 30 of Surah Ash-Shura, Allah (swt) says: "And whatever misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned.” Similarly, verse 21 of Surah Umm Sajdah says, "And We will most certainly make them taste the nearest torment before the greatest torment, so that they may return.” Therefore, Allah Almighty inflicts various kinds of sufferings on the sinners according to their evil deeds. Some people insist on committing sins even after the onset of these afflictions and become entitled to the wrath of God Almighty. On the other hand, many people, after the onset of adversity, correct themselves and walk on the straight path to attain the pleasure of Allah (swt). Therefore, Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, removes their sufferings because He is pleased with them. Allah Almighty has given an example in Surah An-Nahl of a town which had peace and contentment and its sustenance was coming in abundance from Allah Almighty. They were ungrateful to the blessings of God, so God made them hungry and fearful. Man should take the path of repentance and seek forgiveness after such afflictions from Allah Almighty. If a person repents sincerely, no matter how many major sins he has committed, Allah (swt) forgives all his sins. Thus, Allah (swt) mentions polytheism, murder and adultery in Surah Al-Furqan and informs the perpetrators of Hell, but those who follow the path of repentance, faith and righteous deeds are given the glad tidings that Allah (swt) is theirs. He will not only forgive sins, but will change their sins into good ones. In Surah Nooh, Allah Almighty mentions the saying of Prophet Noah that ask forgiveness from your Lord, surely He is the Most Forgiving. He will send down rain upon you and will help you with your possessions and your sons, and will make for you gardens and rivers. It is as if Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, averts His sent torments due to repentance and asking for forgiveness. So when the people of Jonah collectively repented and took the path of faith, Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, removed His torment from them. A study of the Qur’an also shows that many accidents and sudden hardships are the punishment of Allah for the criminals. So the pride of the people of Aad that there is no one more powerful than us, then Allah Almighty imposed the torment of the winds on them and scattered them on the ground like the trunks of a cut palm tree. The people of Thamud and the people of Madyan were ravaged and destroyed. The people of Thamud killed the she-camel and her calf coming from Allah. So Allah Almighty imposed torment on them.

In fact, in such afflictions and accidents, there is a warning for those who come later to adhere to the path of obedience to Allah instead of being deprived of the essence of Allah and always pray that Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, Protect yourself from such attitudes and behaviors. Amen!
